Loosey Goosey

I left the butter, cream cheese and pudding out on the counter last night. Today we're set to break the heat record in Seattle for July 8 and consequently the frosting is too loose to hold it's shape. Back to the big chill while I go mow the lawn.

Cake Revisted

I put the cake in the freezer and the frosting in the fridge and went out to work in the yard. I am driving it into Seattle about 30 minutes away to take it to the chashier who sold me the mixer. The cold in the cake will keep the frosting from melting on the ride in.

Looks like a really nice cake, Kelly!

Is this a new new mixer from Krups? The only Krups stand mixer I knew of, until this thread, is a convertible one.

This mixer looks as though it could hold its own against KitchenAid or Kenwood (and all its rebadges.)

Nice find Kelly!

I always liked the design of this mixer. How do you like it so far? I considered this model but in the end I got the little Bosch one.

I think this model isn't available in the Netherlands anymore. Is it still available on your side of the big pond?

Happy mixing!

Louis

Like Bosch

This mixer reminds me of the little Bosch and in the 90's it was sold under the West Bend label. The mixer is relatively quiet and has a good range of speeds. The beater spins and turns in an arcing pattern criss crossing the bowl. There is an interleck, perhaps a magnet in the base of the bowl where it turns to lock in the mixer. I haven't found the intuitive in and out spot yet, If the bowl isn't exactly in the right spot the mixer does not activate. If it was the only mixer left on the planet, I could be quite contended to use it for perpetuity.
