New Vid I found on adjusting water level in the He3t and Duet washers

Kind of a gross washer in the video, but this guy is doing it differently from the method I tried which I will post a link to below and that original method did not work for me very well at all and I gave up. I actually came across this accidentally. I don't think this is for modern Duet's or Kenmore FL washers, I think it's for the ones made in the mid 2000s. The water level in his is perfect and what I always tried to get, but I never could. Not sure if I'm going to try this though.

I had a kenmore HE3 (sister to the HE3t). I never had a problem with it NOT cleaning the clothes. And yes, He needs to clean up his machine.

On you tube if you type in the following, Whirpool Duet 9550 water level fix,
that shows the one that you could not get to work.It just turns the small screw on the bottom of the pressure switch as to disassembling the the unit to get the water level to rise.
I tried it and it worked for me but I did not raise the water level too high.My duet has a tilt drum and small fins so having a high water level would defeat any good tumbling action.
I find my duet is rinsing much better and noticed a significant difference in the towels. I never had an odour problem with the machine or my towels but the detergent just wasn't getting rinsed properly unless I used a second rinse manually on the towels. Now the machine uses a little more water and eliminating the extra rinse.
Good luck if you want to try this method.

Thanks. I've never seen that vid. Yes, that's the method I tried but I didn't take the pressure switch OFF the machine. I just stood besides it and carefully put a screwdriver in and turned (but with the machine unplugged) The problem I had is I would turn in very small amounts and the water level would stay the same, after a few very small turns, suddenly the washer would fill up WAY to high! It was either all or nothing. So I just put it back and left it alone. I can't understand how these people are turning the screw over two full turns and it only filling up a little more - yet when I turned it a very little a few times, maybe 1/2 rotation, total, I got halfway up the glass full which I did not want......

I have never had stinky towels or laundry with this Duet. However, I would like to have the water level raised just slightly.

When I did this adjustment (in the past) I stood beside the washer without taking the pressure switch off and had to hold a flashlight down holding my head down and carefully locating the screw (NOT EASY) and turning it to (MY LEFT) since I was standing beside the washer looking in, which would mean I was actually turning the screw to the right.

So should I try this guy's method turning both the top middle and the bottom?

Forgot to mention. He briefly mentions that it's the top middle screw and NOT the very bottom screw, but the one above the very bottom. Yet in the picture of the other method, it's the very bottom screw.

Duet Rinsing

 
An extra rinse may be more effective than two rinses at a higher water level ... being as there's also an extra spin to extract the detergent/soapy water.

- back when I was messing with the water level, at one point I thought I had it perfect. It was weird because I ran a full cycle on whitest whites and the water level was just touching the boot. Not to little, not too much. It was perfect. But without touching anything, the very next load I did, the water level went way to high. I was like "HUH?????" That's when I tried to get things back to the original and I haven't messed with it since. I was bummed out too because I had it perfect. The level of water where it's just touching the boot is perfect in these machines. Any more than that is too much. I can't understand why anyone would want the overkill of water going 3/4 up the door. That can't be good for the machine and it's certainly NOT going to be very effective at washing.

It is much easier to just adjust the little silver screw.
Keep in mind that when you adjust the "Red" screws...you are adjusting settings that are for the "Suds" cycle and the first few intern spins. If you throw this off and can't get it back to the original settings you will need a new pressure switch.
With these being off kilter it could constantly give you a "Suds" routine or worse, terrible off balance spin cycles.

OK - I've decided I'm just not going to mess with it then if that's the case. The very bottom little silver screw (like I said) didn't work for me. Either there was no change at all or water 1/2 way up the door, just from several very small turns.
