I was looking at the Viking dishwasher's for Mom because she asked me to.The last time I was impressed but these new ones I have some questions about and cant find any info on it.I HATE dishwasher with out a grinder in them if its a Bosch type I dont even bother.Thats one reason I love Kdi21 Kitchenaid dishwashers. The new Viking says it has a ultra hard food disposer in it and its a half H.P. wash motor.I thought Vikings were made by Asko but I might be wrong.I love Viking disposers I have two of them there the Old Kitchenaid design's even though I.S.E. makes them now for them..Does anybody out there have one or have used one of these new dishwashers? If I designed dishwashers they would have a full disposer in it and a huge pump. She wants a new dishwasher for her farm they have redone the house and sence she is running out of room for her plants here(she is a botanist) so they are going to stay at the farm most of the time sence my Dad is close to retirement. They are into Roses she makes new breeds and she has over a thousand of them now and thats just Roses there are many more flowers to say the least. She makes Martha Stewart look like a Amature when it comes to plants.I find it boring but she thinks I am crazy for having 15 plus disposers 13 Vacuums and three dishwashers. So she has a point that is for sure...

They are made by Asko, which, according to Consumer Reports, is a very repair-prone brand. I'd keep looking...

The new TOL LG has a cutlery rack (like a Miele) and mine cleans very, very well. Cycle times are a little long, but it will certainly heat water faster than your Mom's KA does.

It is the quietest model you can buy with a hard food disposer. Also, there's no exposed heating element.

There is no heated dry option, so plastics come out wet at the end of the cycle.

Mine is super-quiet, and the steam option tackles pots/pans very well. It comes with a standard silverware basket, but I never use mine. All silverware goes in the cutlery rack. Racks are spacious, and the ss interior is of the highest quality.

Here's a photo and a link.

Viking

Yes, they are made by Asko and I have had them in two of my homes. I wouldnt buy one again as the racks rust out within two to three years. I now own a Miele and it is the best dishwasher I have ever had. Very quite, cleans anything and I love the cutlery rack at the top.

Asko/Viking

I wonder why a product from Sweden would be so break-down prone? I wonder about their washers.....Bill in Az....

"I wonder why ..."

No wonder : ASKO now is owned by Antonio Merloni CO, the same co of Equator, Servis and other thousands brands of crappy appliances :-((

Just the same happened to KitchenAid and A.E.G.
Many TANKS (yes, without "h") to whirlpool and e'lux ;-)
