Looks like W/P finally redesigned their Front Loaders! This time their closet depth (Can fit inside 33 inch closet), I love the how the doors look! Kind of jealous now...

I'm glad they moved away from that weird crescent hoop shape whatever they called it door they have had until now. These new designs just look very clean and simplistic. I've been very proud of Whirlpool this past year so far. Seems like where LG and Samsung are trying to pack useless gimmicks in their products, as usual, Whirlpool is making a lot of great improvements and progress. The HybridCare dryer is on my dream list right now. Since having my eye set on wanting one, I almost feel guilty using a wasteful traditional dryer now, even if it is just barely two years old.
The door is reminiscent of the HE5 design.

I just can NOT for the LIFE of me understand why Whirlpool does NOT have the easy access pump drain/coin catcher or whatever it's called. I think every other brand has that but Whirlpool. What are they thinking? Otherwise, I like them a lot!

The only thing I can assume is that it isn't the big problem that we tend to think it is. I know two families that both have first generation duets and neither has ever had a pump problem.
My concern is more for that filter on the back of the hybrid dryer that needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. That is beyond crazy to me.

The filter on the bottom front right is the only one that has to be cleaned every few loads on the HybridCare. The one on the back I'm sure is just a mesh cover to catch hair or whatever, like a computer fan.
The fan on the back probably IS a computer fan.

Not to mention, the incredible lack of replacement parts after a mere 2yrs.....that they do on purpose.
I have no concerns with ever needing replacement parts for my WP/Maytags 8 years from now.

As far as gimmicks go, why don't they just introduce a REAL LIVE COMBINATION WASHER DRYER????!!!
My LGs have features I use. Not any gimmicks. The Duet Steam had so much debris and sand in the "filter" pump that i decided to replace the pump so as not to be sorry later. My LGs have recirculating sprays and higher water level frrom my readjustments. Their final spin cycle is far better than any other full size front loaders and I never,never have any issues with getting parts.If there's a problem, my LGs are self diagnostic.

Laundromat, that's fascinating. Because all I've heard here is how difficult it is to get replacement parts for LG and Samsung machines if they're older than 2 years old. I've had many friends tell me that, as well as two staff members at different Home Depot stores.
Either way, sounds like you really lucked out!
I know it's only anecdotal. But two of my good friends had their Samsung DW drain pump die. A repair man came. And he could not replace the pump with another Samsung part. The newest pumps had a different outlet port and different wire harness plug.
So he had to jerry rig and splice wires from a Frigidaire drain pump in order to fix it.
Their Samsung DW is only 4yrs old, and their drain pump was NLA.
The Home Depot staff told me that parts for LG/SSg machines are notoriously hard to get after 3 years, so the big boxes have begun stockpiling parts themselves, because their customers are FURIOUS when LG/SSg tell them their parts are NLA on machines that are only a few years old.
Just reporting what I've been told by many.
Hope your luck certainly holds out.

The control panel's functionality seems pretty much the same on the washer as similar models, except they replaced the Allergen cycle with a Colorlast cycle.

It is a simple cooling fan. It cools the heat pump, which, if it overheats, shuts down until it is back to its normal operting temp, thus increasing drying time.
It's located in such a way that a vacuum extension and a brush with a few swipes should be enough. I'd rather clean a few more filters if it means drastically cutting energy use compared to wasteful vented dryers.

If your installation is out in the open and you have access to it easily, it shouldn't be a problem. However, if it is in a closet, like they are marketing, and you have shelving above, access may be near impossible without moving the machine.
