I found a website called freecycle.org. There are groups in thousands of towns and cities where people post things they want to get rid of (all items have to be free) or you can place a post for something you want. They are actually Yahoo groups that you have to sign up for, and I've already joined a number of them in the Phoenix area. I've done searches for appliances in a few different cities and have seen alot of posts from people wanting to get rid of old appliances.
