3 rack dishwashers; Stepson bought his first home, new construction with no appliances. He's asking for reccomendations as I'm knowledgable. Any thoughts on these? Is the lower rack not able to load tall items because of the 3rd? It's just two of them for now, and this isn't supposed to be their forever house.
Of course I told them Whirlpool makes a good product. I just prefer GE cooking appliances more.
Either brand for a fridge, or dishwasher. Whirlpool dryer, neither for a washer, unless they're thinking front loader. I like our Samsung, and know others who like their LG's. They have zero interest in anything vintage or used. He's a miser, but when he wants to spend, he gets what he wants, like his $1,0000 office riser desk.
He's had to work from home since March.

The lower rack loading height hasn’t changed because the tub is now lower to the ground. The new platform seems to allow standard sized dinner plates and tall blender jars on both level racks even with the deep FreeFlex third rack.

Congrats on your son’s first house!

If I had to do it all over again, I would live by the old “ buy once cry once.” You can always take your appliances with you.

That being said, I love the new advanced clean water wash system dishwashers. I’d get the KitchenAid KDTM704kps.

As far as washing machines go. The Speed Queen FR7 washer dryer set would be my go to. Or TC5 if he likes top load washers.

Thank's Andrew and Johnny!

Knowing his and her champagne tastes, they will want a high end kitchen in their next house with built in's, so that means leaving behind what they get now.
The first place they offered on, they were outbid by an at appraisal match offer. I've never heard of that. Inventories are low here, but this market is nothing like say Chicago, California, etc. That home was even more pricey, and larger and had it all. Not new, but had been extensively renovated from a bungalow into a split level with master suite on the main floor. Skylights in the great room too. Even a pool sunk into the back deck. Larger lot with a half circle drive.
While their house appraised for mopre than sale price by $5,000, it is on a street of mixed style, age, and values. Not the best in my opinion for resale. They are between two houses from the 1950s which are clad in gold aluminum siding. Their's is a colonial in grey brick with some white vynil trim, a nice bay window in front.
There are homes nearby in a new subdivision with a lower tax mil., standard granite counters, dovetailed kitchen cabinets, porcelain or creamic entry way and bath tiles, and nice laminate or wood flooring choices in the kitchen and dining rooms for a bit more than they paid. I gave my advice, but it's their choice, their business. Perhaps as they say, happy wife (not yet), happy life? I think she wanted to be close to her parents, which is only about 15 minutes from us.

All the new Whirlpools I've seen have manual filter clean design. The lower-end KA KD*E204K has manual clean filter too. If it has a 39 dB noise level on KA it's manual clean. 42 dB noise level KA are the Clean Water Wash system.
