New Wisk Coupon

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I too found that coupon in my Sunday paper. The bottle is now all red and it is advertised as being a new version, with "Stain Spectrum Technology." In my area, Target has a 64 load bottle for $10.99. Shop Rite supermarket is advertising a 32 load bottle this week for $5.99. I plan on picking up a bottle with the coupon to try it.

When I inspect the new bottle in the store, I notice it said it was from the Sun Products Corporation. According to the attached article, Unilever used to own Wisk, and sold it a couple of years ago. My guess is that the generous $3 coupon is part of the marketing of the reformulated detergent.

Not that long ago, I found several $3 coupons for Snuggle fabric softener in the paper.

That All Small and Mighty is made by Sun also. I won't use the HE in my front loaders because of the sudsing in the rinses, but it makes the sheets smell good so I use it in the Maytag. I guess the HE version of the new Wisk will be the same way.

There seems to be several version of this. I think I sniffed the "Fresh" version and there is a tiny hint of 80s Wisk fragrance (which I was hoping for), but not enough to make me spend $10.

I'll stick to my Target Up and Up Dynamo-esque scents to remind me of the 80s for now.

I had a coupon

so I paid $1.99 for mine. Now I will see how it goes. I used the stuff in the '90s all the time. Then I had kids, broke out from the stuff. Now I will see if it is different. I'm a Tide girl, but this stuff was on sale.

I got some too

I had the coupon so I got it for $1.00. Also got a bottle of Era that I had a coupon for. I used to really like the Wisk from about 15-20 years ago back when they had the powder version as well. The powder I thought smelled great. I think they were owned by Dial back then? I can't remember but I miss all those different powders you could get back then. Fab, Wisk, even some of the store brands that are gone now.

Jons:

I also remember the Wisk powder. I thought it did a pretty good job of cleaning. The last box I bought was in '97 when I moved here to Springfield and I had to do laundry. I don't know how much longer it was on the market after that, but it just seemed to disappear from the shelves.

Do you (or anyone else for that matter) remember Wisk tablets? Tide and Purex also had these, but due to low consumer response and lousy dissolving in cold water, they were discontinued.

Wisk products had always been made by Lever Brothers (now Unilever) and based out of New York. I remember on the back of detergent boxes in the 60's, they used to have a drawing of a tall building as part of their logo. If anyone should have a box from that era, can you take a picture of what I mentioned and display it?

Dirtybuck

I do remember the Tide tablets. They were about several years ago. Those are what I used while I was in army basic training. They had a really nice scent to them I recall also. I never used the Purex ones though.

Lever Bros, that's right. I knew it was something like that. I wish that type of Wisk powder would come back. It was a nice smelling detergent.

With coupon in hand, I went to the store today to buy Wisk. I cannot believe how bad that stuff smells! I gave every HE formula the sniff test and I would not want to put a smell like that in any of my washers, especially a front loader where the smell lingers. I think I would like one of those floral scented things made for the Hispanic washer women over that. It had a smell as objectionable as the first liquid Tide HE and I remember how that lingered, even after drying. Why, if All Small & Mighty can smell so sweet, can't Wisk?

I always liked Wisk---

Even when they were in the original red bottle back in the 60's. All is the same basic formula but was low sudsing and had a different aroma.I liked them both as well as Final Touch fabric softener and Vim tablets. We used Sweetheart and Dove soaps too. My Auntie worked at the Baltimore plant down by GM's Chevrolet plant where my grandfather tested the new cars before they past inspection. There was also an American Standard toilet and tub assembly plant there but GM,owners of the site it was on,needed the space for the new Vega and Monza cars to be assembled there.

Update

It is safe to use in a FL. I used the rinse cycle to freshen up a shirt (that was clean) and suds appear. It's works great, but use an extra rinse in a front loader.
