I went to the Sears store in Peoria today. Not much of the orange box detergent was on the shelves so I asked why not and was told that they are phasing that out for a new detergent in a white box that says Kenmore on it. mmm? I wonder what this will be like?

There was quite a bit of the orange box variety on the shelf here when I picked some up a month ago when the sale Martin posted was going on. I guess time will tell.

It could also be a move to protect the product. If "Sears" is headed down the toilet, it would be best to re-badge the detergent as "Kenmore" and then it could survive the store's demise. Even if Sears goes belly-up, someone out there will buy the "Kenmore" brand and keep selling.

Chuck,

I use the Sears in the Blue Box with Oxy Clean. It is available here in Arkansas and by the way WAS NOT on sale when the orange box was :( .

Is that what you are talking about? I need a detergent for senstive skin and so far this has worked for me. It is not highly scented but it does not specifically state that it is free of dyes or perfumes. I am allergic to Essential Oils which is basically the fragrance so I have to be careful what I use.

Thanks for the thought, Chach, and I did see that one. This one's different, and it's a light blue box instead of Oxy's darker blue. I did get a couple boxes when someone announced them on sale last year at some point and can't find any more.

Chuck,

I've noticed that what Sears shows online for store inventory is very inaccurate. When the sale Martin posted awhile back was going on my local store's online inventory showed only 2 were available. When I went to the store they had about 10 boxes on the shelf, and I had just checked online about 15 minutes prior.

spoke with sears manager today

About sears laundry detergent. .he told me currently their old supplier is no longer making the sears detergent..it is being made by a new manufacture and he believes the formula will be different. I ask if it was going to be named kenmoreclean as they have in canada he said he really can't remember what he was told the name would be but kenmoreclean didn't ring a bell..he also said sears is working on selling the current detergents to make room for the new...he had 2 boxes left of the orange box that he's saved for me 180 loads for 16 dollars...I really wanted the blue with oxy but oh well...take care. I know this topic was mentioned but wanted to add what little I could.

I question

The same thing...if the store manager is to be believed, and I have no reason not to believe him it would only be reasonable to think they should all be on sale..after all the manager told me sears is trying to get rid of their current detergents to make room for the new..if that's the case mark them all down..that would get them out the door. I am curious as h#!! To check out the new detergent. Have a good one
