Hey Panthera...can you guide me to a more wholesome company that is not quite as evil as WP? If you can and they can build a TL like evil WP..i may take notice.

The appliance store truck arrived at 10:00, right on schedule. The two very nice guys took out the old, brought in the new and hooked everything up. Turned on the dryer for the test, and heard the sound of screaching (sp?) metal. The drum is terribly out of round, and hits the back of the dryer at two points. The guys called the dealer, told me that they would bring another new one Monday while apologizing for the defective one, and for not being able to bring another new one the same day. A major aggravation for me, having done without a dryer for almost two weeks, but can you imagine the "grief" I would have endured if I had purchased it from one of the big box stores???? Sad to note that the dryer came out of the factory the way it did, but the dealer's attitude sure makes the whole issue "easier" to deal with....

Maytag has always had some of the best independant dealers out there.Willing to go the extra mile,if need be. I would venture to say that if you had purchased from a large box store,you would not have received that type of service.

I am sure that if I had purchased it from a "box" store, I would, at the very least, have to wait for a factory rep. to show up to validate my claim. That is exactly why I have purchased every appliance I have bought since 1980 at Jeff's Appliances in Nitro, WV.....
(and couldn't have bought this one from box store even if I had wanted to...I understand that this model is only available from independent dealers....)
