next washer dryer set

Hello to all aw members,

even do my mom and i have 13 year old duet whirlpool washer dryer set if i can convince my mom i am seriously thinking speed queen model i have in mind awn432. I have look at it quick when we purchuse or ge dishwasher sure they are costly but they rely look jjust by eyes like a set that could last up to 40 years and the awn432 model seem easy to use just turn the timer knob to select cycle and pull to start and i find practical the mini water level if there a very small load to wash.

I bought a machine very similar to the AWN432 for my wife this year and we are very happy with it.

The speed queen top load washer is definitely the ONLY top load machine that washes like a traditional top load automatic washing machine of 20+ years ago. As far as lasting you 40 years, that is ridiculous. It is an automatic washer and might last you 10, 15, 20 or even longer if you take good care of it. They are nice machines, but they are NOT built like even the old Maytag washers were. There are many that will disagree with me, but I think time will tell. And if you look on this very site, you will find those that have had severe problems with speed queen top load washers too. Simply because they are now owned by a commercial laundry machine company does not make them terrific. They still have the same basic design that was so trouble prone in the past. It is not really a new design. They are a good machine for what they are and seem to be built better than the past speed queen machines that were a constant problem. They are water guzzlers that fill the tub to operate with a full load of clothes and are NOT an HE machine. I am not convinced they are all that and a bag of chips. It sounds like you already have a good set of machines. Why would you want to change?

If I was to buy a top loading, non HE washer ,it would definitely be a SPEED QUEEN . Durable, dependable, stylish and the 210' arc really turns the loads over. It also spins fast in a clockwise direction. I myself prefer front loaders but miss the traditional line of top loading machines. My only bark about the current front loaders is that the manufacturers are trying to see who can make a low water use unit . That takes away the fun of watching them.

Like you said Laundromat, as soon as the warranty period is up I will be upping the water level on our SQ FL and get some drama in that window!

I'd be happy to see Speed Queen step it up and add a heat boost option to their front loader.

Well, in the past speed queen was the leader in coin operated laundromat machines. They were the leaders in that realm and there were just a few other brands that even had a commercial coin op machine. Maytag came in second and then there were a few GE, Hotpoint, Whirlpool, Westinghouse and Frigidaire laundromats around. The old one direction motor with the solenoids was quite a workhorse in it's day.

i wonder

i wonder if the speedqueen lwn432 model will be sold in canadien stores so far like the design and i also like the awn 432 model both look like the controls are easy to rread and not that many cycles?
