NICE 58 Frigidaire

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

You can really see the progrression of design. Our '63 has the same basic shape, but has lost the black/gold details in favor of aluminum/chrome/black. At $100, what a bargain! Hope it finds a new home!

This is a very clean '58 Frigidaire.  It either was never used, or cleaned daily.

I don't have the books near me, but I believe this a Custom Deluxe model.  Cookmaster with the light, and 2 large, 2 small burners.  No speed heat or heat minder - just the way it should be.  :)

yes, 58

I just looked in my 57 and 58 brochures, it's not shown in the 58... but the gold timer panel is the same as more deluxe models... the 57 brochure shows the whole line, they just look more modern with their black/charcoal panels, to my eye.

Roger,

It is a '58 Deluxe (RD-38-58). It's the second cheapest of 30" models that year as only one "Super" model remained for 1958, the one without control panel lighting or a clock/timer.

There were two 30" DeLuxe models that year, this one which replaced the previous year's nicer Super range and another one with more bright trim on the console, a surface unit pilot light, Heat Minder and Speed Heat burners and a gray porcelain oven liner instead of black.

Nice score, Kevin!

I truly admire your growing stove collection. Something I wish I could accomplish, but will have to settle for enjoying the experience through the 'puter by others like yourself on this site.

I'm very excited that you got that stove and that it's now "in the family"! That was the range I grew up with. It was replaced in 1979 by a Kenmore (Roper) electric that was pretty much a POS.

I hope we get to see this range in video "production" at some point in the future.

Here's a pic of that range in the background at my 1st birthday party in 1972.

I'm so glad this found a new home. I always wonder about some of these vintage appliances. Thankfully there are people out there that realize these vintage appliances are so much better built than newer ones. Congratulations!
