Nice Brown stove

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

A friend's apartment in Columbia Plaza on Virginia Ave., NW by the KenCen and the Watergate had a Brown Frolic 30" stove in the kitchen. Frolic was written in semi cursive at the top right of the backsplash. Although a Brown, the stove was white. Nice, big kitchen, but crappy appliances.

Brown..

I would LOVE to get my hands on a Brown, I have been to the factory in Cleveland Tennessee, its the only family owned stove manufacturer left! The one shown is a dream!! from the late 50s.

A grandmother had a Brown in coppertone from about 1962.  Was a great stove.  The burners had the little simmer burner in the middle of each burner.  The oven was very good and baked evenly.

Sunshine yellow from the 60s.

Except for Candy Pink, and Platinum, this is my FAVORITE color,  oh, and Harvest Gold, seafoam green, and Toast.  tee-hee.

Oh, bless their heart

"Brown is the name brand but it is actually an almond or ivory colored range"

...and they are sticking to the $50. NO BUDGING.
Because 25 y.o., BOL gas ranges, that may need to be retrofitted, are rare.

Tim:

This is the Brown range I'm very familiar with from '70s apartment living in Atlanta.

They are horrible bakers, and it wasn't just one range in one apartment.

Nice curiosity, but I'd rely on something else for real cooking.

Ugh, I had a Brown in an apartment (in fact, almost like the one in the second link), the oven was so-so and the pilot light was always blowing out. It wasn't as nasty as the avocado range I had to cook on in college though (can't remember the brand now, tried to put it out of my mind, the valves were stick and the pilots clogged).
