Nice Early 60's Olympic TV/Stereo Combo On Ebay

Gotta admit, this one is rather cool, even if it is a black and white tv, and at least the TV looks well built.

I'm trying to figure out that the problem might be from the tubes in the phono compartment. Anyone else care to guess?

Some might say "no problem, the only shows worth watching are black and white!"

I wouldn't go that far, but there have been periods when everything I've watched has been black and white. Only time I'd see color is when the DVD player generated some on-screen display.

I've started a convo with him. He says that the unit is completely dead. Which is good or bad depending on how you look at it.

The thing is though, I don't this is a real common unit and the tv build looks higher than average for that time frame.

Rare set indeed. If I remember correctly, Olympic was a "budget" manufacturer. You could get a TV, record player and AM-FM radio for the price of a TV alone, so their ads boasted.  They were made not far from me at Long Island City, Queens.
