Large Capacity Refrigerators

I think the GE SXSs of 20+ years ago were the largest capacity Refs of all time, but the space inside was not the most convenient to use.

The 48" wide SZs, Kitchenaid builtins etc are not quite as large inside but much the space is more usable because of layout.

Reply #11, the Admiral was lost or broken, I think they likely realized that the POS did not work and junked it.

Maybe the GE refrigerators called Arctica were the largest ones.  Didn't GE have a lot of trouble with them?  I notice GE Appliances today has smaller SXS refrigerators (would they be Haier models now?).

Believe Admiral inherited Norge/Borg-Warner. Borg-Warner invented Cycolac (ABS plastic) and used it early in refrigeration interiors...I can imagine that they had "plastic on the brain" regarding the virtues of plastic hinges. WP advertised porcelain-on-steel refrigerator interiors long after BW/Admiral was using plastic.

Well yes I suppose it *could* be that; but since unit was working previously it just suddenly stopped a few days after being put up for sale?

Since fleaPay and other online were forced to begin collecting local sales taxes there has been an increase in listings suddenly ending. Sellers are listing items (especially going for large sums) on CL, Offerup, Letgo and elsewhere along with eBay. First person who shows up with money gets item.

More importantly for some it allows them to bypass paying sales taxes, which when piled on top of shipping can often be substantial.
