Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

There are a few differences between the two.

The 9537 washes for slightly longer than the 9534 but uses less water (just up to the equivelent of the half load level on the 9534). The rinses on the 9537 can be boosted to a higher level using the super rinse button, which replaced the older half load button found on the 9534.

Another difference is that on the 9537 the second intermittant spin before the last two rinses goes up to 1000rpm rather than 500rpm which makes for plenty of water going down the door glass!

Finally, the 9537 uses the modern care symbols on the dial rather than the numbers. Programme 3 (white nylons) is ommited from the 9537.

Hotpoint

Hi Rob

Congrats on the new/vintage machine I`m sure you will have hours of fun with it....the motor problem is easy sorted, either replace the armature or go for a recon similar motor, I`ll ask the local shop I use what prices they are etc...now all you need is the matching dryer!!!

Hello Tom, & welcome to the club, nice to see the 95 machines in use, at least these machines are easier to service than the wrap around models, but all have their place in history, you could always be assured of a dramatic albeit noisy spin with Hotpoint....

Darren, considering selling the "Quartz"...how could you even think it!!!!...LOL

Mike i dont have alot of choice. Though it crossed my mind selling the logic now its playin up. and i have a dead hotpoint in my garage n im not meant to be having 3 machines. so something has to give!

Maybe someone could donate me a 95series? LOL!

Darren

Hey Tom, I have the dryer that matches ur 9537 or is a similar model. I love both of your machines, if it is possible at all for you to provide some form of video footage of either machine in action, I'm sure everyone would love ya for it!

Below is a pic of the said dryer!

Welcome Hotpoint9534

Hello Tom

Great to see more new members. Many thanks for the link. I have decided to order the armature. Even if it doesn't work out I can sell it again on Ebay so shouldn't lose too much. Hopefully that will solve the problem while keeping the original Hottie sound.

Rob

Rob, glad you went for the new armature in the end. I hope it does the trick. The new FHP motors are made by Indesit, and I know how much I'd hate my 95 series to sound like an Indesit!

I will try to get some footage of my two Hotpoints in action as soon as I can find someone who can lend me a camera. I will get some better pictures uploaded as soon as I can too.

For anyone else who'd like a 95 series, they are getting rarer, but if you look hard enough it's still possible to find well cared for and reconditioned examples. As the engineer who sold me the 9534 said 'Classic machines these... good workhorses!'
