I too used to love to eat the paste in elementary school!

The teacher in kindergarten used to tear off 4”x4” pieces of brown paper towels and take a wooden tongue depressor and drip into the BIG glass paste jar and smear an glob of paste on the paper towel squares and dole them out to each kid. As soon as I’d get mine I’d start eating it.

My Mom used to yell at me, “Eddie are you crazy, that paste is made with horses hooves and you’re gonna get tuberculosis if you keep eating that paste”. But it didn’t stop me.

Lighten up Matt!

That was 69 years ago and I’m still here. Lots of kids ate paste and lived to tell about it. It tasted like Beeman’s Chewing Gum, which tasted like wintergreen mint to me, YUM!

I remember making mud pies in the back yard, scooping spoonfulls of mud on the bricks in the sun.
And then laying on my back on the lawn and watching the clouds, and imagining what they looked like - while I was waiting for my pies to get done.
Jeez, the silly things we all did as kids!
I could write a book!
