Wow Greg,
This is real interesting. Especially being I own a combo. The spin speed is rather slow (225 rpm). I wonder how fast of a dryer it was. I don't notice weather or not this is a condendor unit? Thanks for a real great ad.
Peter

hi pete

I don't believe its a "condenser" but rather an "air/blower" dryer ...... I am sure it takes quite awhile to dry whereas the spin speed on the washer is so slow .....

Re: To Peter, about Combo's:

Hi! Peter, what Brand/Model's Combo's do you have in your Collection? I've got a 1965 Avocado Lady-K Combo and a 1967 White Kenmore {Mechanical Conrol} Combo and a 2004 "LG" Compact Combo, as part of my Collection. I use the "LG" Combo as a Portable Unit in my Kitchen, similar to a Portable Dishwasher. Since it is a Condensor Drying System, I put a Nylon Stocking on the end of the Drain Hose, to collect the Lint, so it won't go down teh Drain of my Kitchen Sink Plumbing. I've converted it to hook-up at the Sink and it sits on a very Heavy-Duty Dolly, with Locking Wheel's. When the Washer is Spinning, especially at 1400-rpm, it shakes, but with all 4-Wheels Locked, it doesn't move at all, not even an inch. I had the Dolly made professionally, thru a local Welding Company and will hold up to at least 300-lbs. I paid $250.00 for it and let me tell you, it was well worth the extra cost, compared to the Mail-Order one thru Equator, as an accessory.

I've not been able to operate my 60's Combo's for quite a long time, so I imagine I will have to do some "Preventative Maintanence" on them, before attempting to "Crank" them up.

Peace and best, Steve

P.S. I'm sorry that I don't have any way as of yet to share Photo's of my Collection, maybe Santa will give me one for Christmas, I've been extra good/nice all year... :o) :o) :o)

To Peter, about Combo's

Hi Steve,
I have the LG 3677 combo. I am not a collector as I live in a NY coop. I do like the machine a lot but LG is useless as far as them being knowledgeable. They do make awsome products. But we should do all the designing of these machines.

Oh, Santa!!!!

Beautiful machine - would love to see one in action. I'd love to get a peek at that 'cast aluminum' dryer element in the front of the drum, very interesting...

This was a cold water condensing dryer - cold water flows over the back of the outer drum, air circulated by the rear-mounted fan passes over the cold surface of the water which condenses the moisture and lint, then pumped down the drain. Hotpoint used a similar system in their never produced(?) combo. Studying the parts book for this machine, the drive system looks very complicated - a tranny, 4 belts and 9 pulleys!

Altho I never did see this machine in action, a neighbor at the end of the street had one. I knew it was a Norge simply by the sampe of the door, like the front load washer at the Norge Cleaning Village. I did get to "play" with it in that I got to open the door and play like it was running by turning the drum. This house also had the first Superba KA I'd vever seen--the same on jetcone has in his kitchen--the 3 push puttons. I only got to be in this house one time, for an evening while my parents played bridge with the owning couple. Unfortunately, the family moved BACK to California not too long after that and I never got to see the inside of the house again, much less the combo. I do remember comparing it to the LK Cobo next to us--NO DISPENSERS!! Yuck.

Very Cool AD's Greg!

Thanks for the fun ads!
This Norge Combo is a great looking machine!
I am sure that you will find one before the New Year!
