My Mother had this one and it was the NOISIEST appliance in the house - even louder than the vacuum cleaner! When it was in use, there was no way you would hear what anyone was saying without shouting REALLY loudly or turning the thing off!
I always thought the "nail dryer" vent was an interesting "feature".
I think the one in my household was a Presto. It was fairly quiet, and far more efficient that the wimpy hand-held blower that sat on a metal stand. The Presto lived inside a round zippered suitcase that resembled a hat box. It had a nail drying feature that routed some of the heated air through a slot that was opened and closed with a sliding lever.
The dryer fell out of favor at some point. It's long gone, but its tubing has survived. I appropriated it as a replacement for the crumbling defroster ducts on the '50 GMC's aftermarket heater.
