NEPTUNE TOP LOAD WASHER

Every serious washer collector should wave one of these, they will be scarcer than hens teeth in 10 years. They only made these about two years, the MT Neptune FLs are also worth collecting but are far more common. Both of these machines are the last examples of American laundry engineering and both have some very good features and good performance. When CRs tested the MT Neptune TL machine it out cleaned every other washer TL or FL in the test.

Neptune TL, Feh, I had one of those for about five minutes. I guess I'll just have to be considered a "non-serious" collector ;-)

While admiring the engineering feat of the Neptune TL, I just can't make room for one in my house.  They washed well - with a full load - but tangled terribly which often led to spinning problems.  I washed a small-ish load with two pairs of jeans, two shirts and a few odds & ends, I shut if off after 14 hours of trying to spin and put them in a Frigidaire and had them nearly ready for ironing in four minutes.   The machine was a bad joke with a load of sheets, air would billow up in the fabric and they floated on the wash-pool.  Very small loads got wet but they rarely saw any action, just turned circles now and then, no real agitation.  Very fun to watch washing big loads though - lots of rolling, flipping and slapping laundry-drama.
