Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Its not a real 1919 photograph. No woman unless over 50 would have worn a bonnet that late (they were getting passe by 1900) and the dresses look much too Victorian for a postwar period.

As for the charms of those ladies, I think I'd just put myself in a monastery instead.

Those ladies are against drinking because their arranged-husbands beat them with an ugly stick! I can think of a few other things that didn't touch them, and some things on them that probably have never been touched...

Look it's Bigfoot!

HA!

All I'm thinking about is what is not shaved, groomed, waxed, plucked perfumed, deodorized and otherwise made presentable.

What was that show on BBC? The 1800's house or the 1900's house or something of that sort. Modern people living the ways life was in the 1800's. IIRC the lady of the hosue said that her person was clean, but her clothes stank! Those costumes ain't gonna to be easy to wash!

The 1900 House. It was pretty good, the family was pretty resiliant to living up to the challenge. There was quite a learning curve--the kitchen range was improperly installed so they had no hot water for a week, no one told the wife how to thread a vibrating shuttle sewing machine, and they really missed shampoo--but a good show.

VAS IST DAS?

What, pray/prey(sp?) tell, would that be?

Copy of a tin type photo.

Ugh!! I don't even drink, and I'd much rather have a drink than any of those old bitches!

Here is a photo of my Great Grandmother, Clara Minnich.Born in 1878, at least she was pretty. (and a very sweet lady)

And here she is again

Prolly in her 80's here. Life was much harder then, but still...
Great Grandma Clara was still pretty, and still very sweet.

They didn't all have to be such bitter looking old bats.
