My sister's friends just bought a house and it has an original Nutone Built-In Food Center from 1961, which they love.  The blender carafe is nearly toast and they're having trouble finding a replacement.

They're not able to find an actual model number for the entire unit, but the undermounted motor is identified as part #221 and the blender carafe part #172 in a 1966 owner's manual.  I'm not familiar with these Nutone systems but have a feeling that the specs didn't change much, if at all, over the years but I've received pictures of the blender and have attached them here.

If anyone has one of these blenders kicking around that they want to sell or has a lead on one, PM me and I'll put you in touch with the interested party.

BTW, I called the "Built-In Center," a Nutone outlet that has been in the same location here in town for decades and was advised that Nutone started making blenders again about ten years ago and that they will fit older units, but I guess they're already NLA too.

We have one built in that I LOVE- I use it for grinding 5-spice, blending, grinding meat, making corned beef hash, etc. Our blender vessel is pink without handle. The lid is black with a pink plastic insert.

I'm seeing a lot of pink carafes on line.  They're either included with an entire vintage BFC for sale or the page isn't found.  I've  looked for carafes that are missing their blade assembly and/or lids, but have found nothing.

I've seen conflicting claims on line about whether or not the more recent blenders from Nutone are indeed compatible with the older 221 power module.  I'm wondering if the bottom interface and blade assembly could be removed from the older 172 type carafe and placed on the newer types.  They sure do look identical, and it appears that it could be accomplished by removing three screws.

I haven't gotten a single hit on either a 221 power module or 172 carafe.  Everything I've seen is designed to work with the 251 or later power module.  I'm surprised Nutone didn't make these backward compatible.  Was there a fatal flaw in the interface on the 221 units?
