Was in the supermarket today, and what did I see?

Cold-Power detergent with their "recommendations" for cold water laundering:
"Pre-treat with OxySard, Wash with Cold-Power and Condition with Cuddly."

I thought modern laundry detergents could so it all, given the right temperature. Oh wait! We're laundering in cold water, so we need a power boost and greasy de-odouriser that will make the clothes dirtier over time... I make these comment since I tried washing my darks in 30*C for a month. After switching to warm water, just 10 deg hotter, the clothes felt and SMELLED cleaner. I also noticed this when we first switched from the cold-connected Simpson washer to the Miele with heating. No more smelly clothes!!!

So this detergent is just making money off poor laundering choices. You don't need these "things" when washing most items (Excluding things like Kitchen whites perhaps) in Warm or Hot detergent with the right enzyme/oxybleach powder...

we had ColdPower available here in the 70's......and with conservation for energy, suprised they have not brought it back again....

I would like to see this available in the states....I may give COLD water washing another shot

Have A Box Of CP In My Stash

Remember it well from the "energy crisis" 1970's days. Mother would have a huge crate of the stuff next to the Whirlpool. Those darn boxes were so huge that my brothers and every other boy in the area would make "forts" out of them once empty.

IIRC Colgate-Palmolive has sold off their laundry products in the USA, so CP won't be coming back to these shores at least.
