Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I keep a little black book, and more than once it's gone through the wash. As long as it stays in the back pocket of the jeans or slacks, however, it generally doesn't get too torn up in the Neptune, and in the past I've been able to dry them out and retrieve the information before replacement.

I used to wind up sending spare change and even screws and nails through the washer. But now that I work in a machine shop, I generally empty the pockets of metal chips before I wash the pants, so any change or fasteners are usually ejected prior to laundering. The Neptune seems pretty impervious to coinage, thankfully, anyway.

Like most people I've occasionally lapsed and sent a pen through the wash. Again, generally it's not too bad if the pen cap stays on in the wash. But once I didn't catch the ball point's presence until it had liberally anoineted the inside of my WCI gas dryer. Probably an improvement.

It's been so long since I've accidentally washed anything in the pockets. I routinely check my pockets as I"m fastening my pants and zipping up the zipper. See, I"m preparing myself for the day when I'll have a front loader!!!!!

In addition to the normal pens and miscellaneous change, I did manage to wash my checkbook (I was 17 then) and more recently I managed to wash a Swiffer duster with the short blue handle. A bit of a mess, but the handle survived the Whirlpool shredding action - with a few nicks....

Dentyne Gum in shirt pockets and also jean pockets. YUK. Then turned around and dried them that way too.

Only Ronsonol Lighter Fluid will remove it from the dryer drum.

A friend of mine called last week to ask me why his washer had behaved so poorly. He starts out by telling me that he put 4 pairs of tennis shoes in his DD WP washer. "And then when I got home..."

We've talked about this before.

Fortunately, there was no damage to the washer, just tripped the motor protector, he panicked for a few minutes until it reset itself and then all was well.

On the home front, the strangest thing I've found in the washer was wood mulch from someone's pockets. For a while, the shapes were quite exciting and needed to be rescued from the outdoors. It makes a mess in the laundry - wood bleeds stain onto other things. Ugh.

I check the pockets careful so often nothing "strange" got washed. Only a few coins here and there. Lyckily all my machines are frontloaders so the coins often lay in the drum or the filter. Only bad thing was in my hoover keymatic. The pump was not working because there was a coin there.

In the dryer i dried a t-shirt with plastic front on too much heat. That wasnt too good. The element was fulty in the drier too so the temperature must have been about 50-70 celsius. I throwed the drier away later because the fan broke and when i bought a new fan, it did not worked anyway. Probably an electrical fault. It was a Husquarna prince 110, made by Baucknecht.Anybody else know that drier?

old things accidently washed

I was staying with a friend(Dr.Gunderscheimer)who was dissabled and had a hard time getting around. However, when he did,he'd spruce himself up putting on one of many topet's he owned and we'd go out for a while to socialise. One day,one of his 9 dachsunds pissed on his bed while he was taking a bath. So,I gathered up the bedclothes and through them in the washer. As I returned to make sure he got out of the yub o.k.and proceeded to assist him in getting dressed,he asked for his "wig"I asked him where he last had it since I saw it nowhere and he replied"I laid it on the bed before I got into the tub.Don't your blind eyes see it?"Then all of the sudden,my legs got weak,my heart started throbbing and I knew just where that piece was.I ran downstairs to the dryer and in removing the dry bedclothes ,I found this piece of stattic blondish/red hair all disscomboberated and sticking out every which way.i took it upstairs and with a brush and some serious Extra hold Aquanet I was able to put it on him.He may have looked a bit like Herman Munster once we were out and about but by golly I made sure we both had a great time!!!

This has to be the funniest!

I'm still crying with laughter! I can just see that toupee now! Sounds like something from a Britcom!

LOL that was really really funny. Just like when one of my friends decided to have a party.... That ended in foam party (regular soap in dishwasher YES you love it)a few broken furnitures and police coming to the place. I was one of the few that could tell what EXACTLY had happen, the others had drunk wayyyyy too much. Sorry no pics from that one.

old things accidently washed

When we had the gas Lady Kenmore combination washer/dryer,my grandmother was the one who did most of the laundry. One day after having a brief afair with someone,I noticed a rash in my groin area that itche and was quite red in color.Being in high school and having to watch those horrible "sex education" movies that always seamed to be more like stories about sexualy abusive gym teachers who liked young boys.I was afraid I may have aquired V.D.I went to our doctor having to be taken there by my dad who was furious only to find out that the rash was from fiberglass pieces that came off something. We went home and questioned my grandmother who at that time was soothing my sister who was in tears and scraching herself uncontrolably in the same place only to find out that right after she washed and dryed the full set of fiberglass curtains, she did a load of cotton underclothes.O.K.yall----stop laughing ----we had to throw out all of our underclothes and get new ones.I made sure I'd never let my granmother wash my clothes again!OMG I can still feel that horrible itch!!!!

I moved into a townhouse where they had the Westinghouse Spacemates washer and dryer stacked in the kitchen. The backyard was fenced in and the dog we had was usually outside and we built him a doghouse that was placed just to the left of the back patio.Being in my early 20's and workin a 9 to 5 mon-fri job at a major hospital,I "partied hardy every weekend.I'd gat high on pot and usually went out taking a small bag with me to share with my friends or have just to keep a nice buzz.one sunday morning,my "X" went to do the laundry thinking since I was dead asleep after staying out in an after hours dance club not getting home untill 7AM the next morning I would be thrilled to have him do my laundry for me.It was about 11am when he threw all the clothes into the Laundromat and I woke up around 1pm.I could not find my jeans and walked out into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee.I then proceededback to my bedroom to medicate my severe hangover by rolling a nivce big joint and could not find my stash.I franticaly searched and after about 20minutes of searching high and low,I finaly gave up and went on about myself thinking I either smoked it all or lost it on the dance floor the nigh before.I went outback to smoke a cigarett and Max,my dog was knocked out.He was layin flat on his back ,legs proped upright and snoring.i tried to wake him up and as I was shaking him finaly waking him,I all of the sudden became stunned and confused, and real pissed.I could smell what seamed to be the aroma of dried grass and the smell was coming from the dryer vent which was right next to Max's doghouse.I ran into the hose right into the kitchen and opened the dryer.Yes my jeans and other pieces of darl clothing were there but so was my pot ALL OVER EVERYTHING!!!!!! Evidently,Miss Thing didn't bother to check any pockets so not only did the pot go all over the place but the residue from the metal pipe that had never been cleaned in monts had mixed into the clothes onto the fabrics and in the dryer as it was drying, the fumes were intoxicating my dog!he was a broaderline collie so it really wouldn't take much to get him high.He slept for at least 4 hours and it took him about three days to come back to his old self again.Poor guy.He was the best dog I ever had.
