I got this new Viking for well very cheap cause it was missing the switch and the waste pipe.I have never seen one like this one.It looks like a old Kitchenaid but I don't ever remember Viking having this model.I have two Vikings and they look just like my Old Kitcheniad superba batch feed the ones with the Wham-jam breaker buttons. Its not arrived yet but there were tons of pics and the grind system looks different.Does anybody know when this was made?I have never seen a Viking disposer like this one.

Mid 90's

I purchased one of these in the Mid 90's. I went to buy a Kitchenaid 1HP and found this model marked down to nothing. Viking was switching over to having their disposals made by ISE and these were on clearance. I held on to it and installed it a few years ago in my new home. To date, I would say it works perfectly.

Does this machine have the cast iron or steel rotating shredder or the cast zinc one-later models went to zinc-and it wore out quickly.Zinc is much softer than the steel or iron rotating shredders. All in all-a nice machine!would LOVE to find a batch feeder like this for my place. The highly effective undercutter shredding action of the Viking design is the best.Long fibrous debris is cut up so it can't clog drain lines.
