Local cable has picked up a station called "Ion television" which runs lots of great old televison shows, including "Mama's Family". Well they've now started carrying "Designing Women" in two back to back episodes, starting this past week.

Oh those shoulder pads, that big hair, and those two Sugarbaker sisters, Suzanne and Julia. Always loved nights when "DW" came on if nothing else to watch Julia get up on her soap box and totally verbally tear down anyone who stood in her way. Suzanne, forever the beauty queen; shallow, self-centered, still living her Kappa Kappa Gamma days at Ole Miss.

Semi-related....WCBS-FM 101.1 is going back to oldies; the 80'esque "JACK" format didn't generate enough billables.

Thank the Gods!

That station looms large in my legend. I am beside myself at that news. I do like 80s music but CBSFM is just supposed to be an oldies channel. Besides, I get my 80s fix on my XM radio. Now when I visit "home" again I have the right station to listen to!

The 80's

It doesn't seem that long ago. Gawd. That makes me feel old. Now I can relate to my parents and grandparents. Geez.

I went to a taping of Designing Women in 1991. It ran long and the women were great, very cordial and grateful to the audience for sitting through the whole ordeal.
