No Thank YOU! *LOL*

If I bring one more ironer into this place you'll be reading my obituary in the Sunday New York Times! *LOL*

Have four (4)and the vintage Simplex (aka The Beast) was the last straw.

As it stands the small Ironrite rarely sees use as one alternates between the two Pfaff ironers. The Simplex only just arrived and will need some cleaning up and restoration before can use to see how well it works.

You are a lamb for thinking of me, but know when I'm well off. Besides that last U-Ship bill just hit my Amex so am preparing to be sat down once again to be spoken to about my spending habits. It has strongly been hinted one should seek *ahem* professional help regarding my inability to stop bringing things into this house. *LOL*

There are many of us that should seek professional help about bringing things into the house.  After committing to buying a gigantic antique refrigerator recently, I forced myself to list some things that I have long ago decided to sell.  The fear of my impending financial meltdown was enough to overcome my disgust in selling on ebay.

One good thing about Amex

Is the year end summary forces one to examine spending. This year it was *again* brought to my attention the numerous PayPal listings. Was also pointed out the large number of linens, china, laundry supplies, ironing equipment, soaps and detergents, scattered and stuff about the place; much of it likely to remain after my demise still wrapped in packaging.

Thing is when you purchase at the peak of a market, unloading things later often can be difficult or at a loss. So that's me for you.

Gee, that's the same Whirlpool as my auctioneer pal in Stanstead has been trying to unload on me since last fall...

Well, Launderess, you can't say we don't think of you when we spot something you might be searching for, though. Now, can someone please turn up that mint aqua late-50s Westinghouse dishwasher I pine for??   LOL

But seriously folks

If one had the space like some other members such as a decent sized basement, garage, shed or even spare room would love to "collect" more things, but one must at some point deal with reality since this is not true.

Washers and dryers of course are a particular issue because of required connections. Have passed over a few Miele units recently because just do not have space for another washer or dryer, well not if it isn't portable and even then.

My idea was to swap out the aging w1070 for something a bit more modern, But what does one do with it afterwards? If the AEG wasn't next to it that would be an option. But it is and that machine is giving me fits as well (water diverter valve wants looking at), so that's me for you.

Back to the subject matter at hand; ironers are a funny lot. After you've had one, or a few (in my case) you realize that unless one is running a commercial laundry why housewives often didn't bother with the things. Now if one could find a non-gas or petrol heated vintage ironer with a 48" or wider roll, that would be another matter.
