I am considering buying the washer

Hey Ash,

I already have a similar dryer which matches the washer to a certain extent.

I am considering buying the Fluid Drive washer...especially since it looks in such good condition, will use the one i already have as a parts donor.

The solid tub Simpsons always named the Fluid Drive transmission on the control panel or on a badge at the front. I think they are the Beam style machines.

The perforated tub Simpson I have is definately Maytag, and it is this design that Simpson evolved into their own unique washing machine.

They are called Fluid Drive

However I picked up Semi Auto one, that states on the back that it is made under license from Franklin Corp. I havent had a good look yet to see if its the same as the auto ones, (minus the spin and Agitate solenoids) or not.

What does a franklin drive system look like?

I did NOT get it!!!!

Well....i didn't get the machine....

I was literally emailing the seller to say thank you for allowing me to pick it up after xmas (considering it is 2 states away and would have cost AU$200.00 to get up to my home)....and i was just about to buy it when someone else beat me to it....

And i don't think the winner is a washer collector!

So....i am disappointed,it will teach me to not procrastinate next time. Anyway, i already have one like it,but it would have been good to get a 2nd one and use one of them for parts.

Shame!

Why on earth would you by a washing machine like that if you are not a collector? For someone who was looking for an everyday washer this is obviously old, heavy, and small in capacity.

What a shame you didnt get it Leon becuase it looked in beautiful condition.
