Hey Everyone!

Not often that I get a chance to get on here with news of a find...so..

I found a Kenmore (rebadged Frigidiare) front loader with the back mounted control panel! I have always wanted a front loader like this ever since I was five and one of my moms friend's had a 1960something westinghouse with the back control panel.
I've been searcing forever for one and when I moved on my own, they didn't make em' anymore. Then in the late 90's when Frigidaire came out with their back mounted panel, wouldn't you know it, I lived in a small studio and didn't have space for washer and dryer. So I did buy the stacked front loader. Short story long, My washer find is from about 2001 (the sticker inside the door says "10/01". I cleaned it up and it works great.

Here's where I could use some mechanical help. I took the cover off and turned the screw (with the red goop on it) to make more water come into the tub. So now it has a nice splashy wash! I was wondering what the other TINY little screw, also with red good on it, was for on the same little piece? Should I give that a few turns too?

Also, I got a dryer, not the match to the washer, but close enough for now. Does anyone know how to get the smell out of a dryer? I mean it doesn't smell, smell. It smell like soap or something..but it's just not "my" smell and my dryers never have that smell to them.

I'd put a picture up but my stupid digital cam isn't working at the moment. It won't 'see' anything.

Thanks for the help. Happy Sunday - Laurent

I have the same machine you do, and I like it a lot! It goes into a spin quickly, doesn't dumb-down hot water settings and it has a cycle dial for easy manipulation.

One difference: I've been thinking about going into the top and setting it to use less water! Small loads don't always wash well because the water level is too high. The machine has three rinses (four with the extra rinse option), so I'm not worried about what a lower water level will do to its rinsing ability.

Re: Contact:

Hi! Laurent, I sent you an E-Mail on October 6th, did you receive it? I would gratefully appreciate a reply back, when you have a few minutes to write back.

Peace and Kind Regards, Steve

Sorry STB, I don't have anything...maybe it went to the spam folder. I usually take a quick look b4 I empty it and didn't notice anything of value the last time I emptied it. You must have been sandwiched in between the herbal viagra and the ExtenZe offers! LOL.
