Thanks Launderess, where is Geoffadelphi?, the red agitator and turquoise knob and wringer release, plus the red maytag logo. It looks assembled from different wringer machines but Geoff would know. The price is right for a wringer to "play" with though. alr2903
Seller had unit listed previously on fleaBay and CL for $250, but got no takers, so she relisted with a BIN of the same, but now that is gone and we are off to the races.
Still think the seller has the CL advert up for $250, this is can be found easily. Maybe you can do a deal should bidding start getting out of hand?
That is a nice machine; it is made up of a few different parts.
If that is an E2LPS, then it needs a turquoise agitator and the decal is wrong; should be black. But I'd keep the red agitator; those are becoming scarce. You should still be able to find the turquoise one.
Other than that, it looks like a fine machine and it is good that the owner operated it every so often. Those machines were meant to be used and if left sitting for years and years, tended to leak fluids.
Have seen the same model listed on other auctions/sales with all manner and sundry of agitator, knob and wringer cover colour combinations. Including black with green and so forth.
Maybe the seller's grandmother ordered her unit with the red agitator instead of whatever colour otherwise standard?
Launderess, its too far away from me. But i love to come out and play Back in the sixties my grandmothers maytag wringer had a red agitator, of couse on a vacation i begged to use it. the red agitator kept "floating" up off the drive shaft. Then two tragedies struck, the replacement was black. I wanted the red one and my Grandmother gave it to me, after returning home, and being an overly exicited 8 yrs old, i dropped it on the garage floor, my prize memento of our vacation in about 15 pieces. Isn't that a silly thing to remember, 42 years later. alr2903
