Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yes it is a 72 or 73 model

My parents had this and the matching dryer at the beach (VA beach - Sandbridge) and it was built in late 72 for the 73 season. I was in the third grade at the time and I have already attended my 25 class reunion.

Do you really want it JT?

JT / River_realtor,

I have a vendor 20 minutes away from that machine's location. They are willing to pick it up and put it in a truck the next time they ship us product at work, which they do at least once a week. If you really want it, I can get it to Charlotte for next to nothing other than it's purchase price. You'll have to get it from here.

Just let me know if you want to do that! I'd be glad to.

That is another eBay washer with more lives than a cat. Posted a link to it must be almost two months ago now, and yet it still went unsold. Am glad this time someone seems to be interested.

Yet, there are still people boucing into the group to wail and moan they "cannot find" a vintage washing machine.

and i bid on the thing, and some how my bid was "deleted" or something..... bid on it last night before bed...

arghhhhhh.... emailed the seller and we will see what they say

Well that's odd Chad ooops I mean Chap (sorry fat fingers this morning) since it's a buy it now the second you bid on it, it should have been yours. Driving from Raleigh to Wisconsin would be a long drive since its pick up only.

Let us know what you find out.

IIRC, fleaBay offers two types of "BIN" offers. One any bid below the buy it now price will cancel out the offer, the other will register the bid but the BIN price stands until it is met and or the auction ends. Methinks the later is for sellers that do not wish to take anything lower than the stated price, sort of like a reserve.

Auction has ended, but if history keeps repeating, the washer will be back on offer, unless of course seller gets fed up and sends the thing to the curb or crusher.

What timing I just relisted them

His response

If the kind person would email me so i can confirm the offer of transport, i will go forth

Yee Haw-Im stoked

As soon as it gets here, pics will be posted.. Emailed you with my cell phone number and such.. Hopefully after july forth weekend will be ok for pickup...

Wonder if it will fit in a Subaru Outback or would the SUV be better????

Wagon or SUV?

I don't think I'd put the machine in either vehicle...it's possible to load a dryer or maybe a DD washer in a station wagon or an SUV, but getting a 230 lb. washer in a vehicle on it's side isn't an easy matter, especially if you don't want to beat up the car. These things ideally should remain strapped to an appliance dolly and ship upright.

Belt-drive WPs are hit or miss for having a leaky transmission seal. The two 1973 models I got recently were both found the second time on their sides and not leaking, BUT it is very common for them to gush oil to such an extent that you'd have half or more of the oil leaked out before you get home.

If you have access to a pickup, that would be MUCH easier and better all around.

I did until a few days ago.. It got sold...

Not too worried over abuse on my cars.. There old, paid for and hey its a treat..
