Which dishwasher has the tougher task?

Hi,

I'd tend to believe the Whirlpool-built machine would handle the dirtier deeds.
The Hotpoint gets to wash mainly glassware, true?

Now I have Maytag and KitchenAid dishwashers that I prefer. Today's Pic of the Day shows the GE Potscrubber that I wouldn't mind playing with.......

You are right!!

The kitchen dishwasher does the grimy kitchen stuff. The bar dishwasher does glasses. Although, I just recently loaded the bar dishwasher with our grimiest kitchen dishes and it did a SPECTACULAR job.

Well, ya know I"m gonna chime in here.  Frst, Steve 1-18 has that exact same UltraWash, bought it new.  (I've used it several times, but never got to put a true BobLoad in it, but what I threw at it came out great.  I have to adjmit, I loved watching the timer count down and readjust when started with Water Miser optoin asnd it during sensing decided the load was so filthy, it still added another water exchange before the main wash lol.  also saw it do that with the Quick Rinse (Rinse&Hold))   I know he's switched it out with other stuff, but it's still around.  That's a true PowerClean-based product.  with all the options, it can clean the crud off a trailer hitch.  the Hotpoiint (GE) is good, but in all my experience (and you know it's vast), I just simply cannot imagine the Hotpoint surpassing the Kenmore.  But I will also add, given the age, the Kenmore water valve may have some calcium/sedimenbt desposits inm it preventing a full water fill each time it fills (timed fill) and that would impact performance.  whirlpool PowerCleans are very sensitive about having the proper amount of water to functoin and doesn't leave much variance before performance begins to deteriorate.  So that's my assessment.  I imagine the Hotpoint is newer and isn't used as much as the kitchen unit.  I imagine that grimy load you put in the Hotpoint, you set it for the HotStart optoin.

Hmmmm

Actually Bob, they are both 1998 models. Actually no, I ran the tap in the bar till the hot water was fully HOT, then I set it to Normal Wash. Our house has a 427 foot well with a .2 Micron in-line filter. Our water is as soft as a baby's butt. Like I said, don't get me wrong, the Ultra wash is wonderful, BUT, the Hotpoint is a sand blaster.

Toplaoder55. Yes, it sounds like a cement mixer with a snapping drain. LOL.

Both dishwashers are original to the house. The house was built in 1998 by a Connecticut Senator who spared no expense in building this house, well, except for the Hotpoint LOL.
