I found a mini-basket on Ebay for my Filter-Flo and it arrived yesterday. Perfect fit! Compare these photos to Sensi-temp's pictures of his turquoise Filter-Flo.

All components in-place. After I purchased this pair I remembered that I had a N.O.S. fabric softener dispenser that I purchased several years ago. I pulled off the wrapper and put it to use.
Filter pan, less the lovely black script/logo of the 1966 version.
The empty mini-basket, ready to receive a few delicate items.
And lastly, the underside of the mini-basket showing the same "sit on the activator" profile, but no rubber pads. Also, this mini-basket is a 2-part version and I believe the turquoise one is a one-piece model.

My mini basket has a rolled lip at the top & you dispenser has an inner & outer chamber, you put the softener in the inner one, in spin it throws it up & into the outer one, rim near the edge keeps it from being thrown all over, when spin stops, it drips down throgh holes in the bottom. This is an improvement over mine as my outer chamber is covered, the dispenser is quite heavy so I know dried softener is in there, you can clean yours out easily.

Your Filter Flo looks like my exact same model. I have been searching for a Mini-basket and accessories for a standard capacity Filter Flo for ages!!! They are apparently rare...and you got lucky. I would sure have bid on it, too, if I knew it was on Ebay. Congrats, and I am a little jealous. lol.

About the mini-basket: according to the seller, the part number is WH45X98. I didn't have any way to cross-reference the part number and know that it was the correct part before I bought it, but I was pretty sure that it was a match. And it was. Hopefully this part number will help others search.
About the fabric softener dispenser: it functions in exactly the same way as the turquoise one but is more exposed. But, just like the mini-basket, it is lighter in weight than the older version and probably easier to clean as it doesn't have the concealed areas. It won't get used - I'm not a fabric softener guy - but it needs to be in the washer to complete the ensemble.

Jet-Swirl dispenser
The older style fabric softener dispenser is rather interesting. The newer one shown in this post is a pretty standard design. Softener is spun out of the inner reservoir and held by the "retaining wall" until spinning stops. It then just drops down and empties onto the filter pan.
The Jet-Swirl actually has two enclosed areas and is designed so that softener is never released until rinse agitation begins. Once spinning has stopped softener is dropped into the outer reservoir. It is slowly released into the rinse cycle as the filter-flo stream splashes against a narrow opening around the outer circumference causing the chamber to overflow. There are openings inside that allow the now diluted additive to slowly enter the rinse water via the filter pan. Thus clothing is never subject to direct contact with undiluted rinse agent.
Problem with this design...I have found that the filter-flo stream doesn't necessarily splash enough water into the dispenser to really get all of the softener out. It's a good idea but just not full proof. Whatever is left in that outer reservoir will get thrown during the final spin. If there is softener left in there it will be thrown all over the clothing and there is no spray rinse during the final spin. That is the main reason why I don't use this dispenser unless I really need to. If the filter-flo stream is in any way misaligned or not forceful enough the dispenser will not work properly so got to keep it clean.
Anywho...that's all I know about it. The link is a video of my filter-flo with special attention to the Jet-Swirl dispenser in there. Enjoy!

I seem to remember some large capacity FilterFlo machines with the wide, filter pan with a solid, slightly lower area around the hub. That would have been perfect for holding the fabric softener that dripped out of the dispenser until activation started, but it still left a messy dispenser that had to be flushed manually and usually was not.
