Keefe and Merritt, everyone who sees it wants to know what kind of off brand is that!!! Most of what was sold around here was Tappan,Caloric and Hardwick, and few of them, electrics run 20 to one over gas here.
Those biscuits and pancakes look picture perfect! That's the beauty of gas cooking IMO. Wish I had that range in my kitchen. Refresh my memory, what restoration did you have to do to this gorgeous thing?
When is the next breakfast being served?? Those biscuits look heavenly - even better coming out of that beautiful range! Love the peek-a-boo window, too!
Never have done ANYTHING to it, other than adjusting it to run on propane...I got it from Steve Riley, when he moved from Atlanta to Roanoake Va., He used it daily, I think it came from Colorado originally..
I still would rather have a Southern built stove, Hardwick Brown or Magic Chef, This stove works fine, but the top burner adjustment is very sensitive, I had a Caloric I liked much better, wish I had kept it.
My grandmother (mothers mother) swore by Brown stoves. Her last was a coppertone one from about 1962 and it was the 30". The burners were the cast iron type and all of then had the small simmer burner in the middle. She was a professional resturant cook and liked the Brown better than what different resturants had.
