A very good friend of mine moved recently to a rental home and discovered a direct drive Whirlpool machine in the laundry room. Its got a few problems, though...

of course, the poor beast has bad dogs, as well.  smacks of frequent overloading.  new dogs are cheap and easy, but what causes her to shimmy?

Aside from the obvious need

For Agitator Dogs. If the machine is bouncing it either has a bad suspension spring or the rear leveling system is locked up. I would suspect the spring due to the noises and the fact that the washer seems to sit squarely on the floor. This would not be the fault of a flumpy floor as the machine appears to be on concrete

Spinning Load

<span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">Does the shaking occur if the machine spins without clothing in it?  </span>

<span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">Based on the agitation video, I would guess a suspension spring has done sprung.  How easy can you shift the basket by hand?</span>
