Hi Paul
Always enjoy seeing this programme, thanks for posting it.
I remember this series from the mid nineties, I recorded several of them, it included gardening and diy, I remember the excitement waiting for the appliance episode to come on, this was in the days before I was on the internet etc, I only had a hoover junior 119, a battered old hoovermatic and a sunbeam mixer, so this programme was the best thing ever. I love the montage, can't think what the tune is, I thought it was`tequela', but not sure, it's in part 2, starts with the radiant ring and aluminum saucepan, the english electric liberator and onto the first hoovermatic pumping out with gusto.
It was certainly to the first time I ever saw any vintage commercials, so seeing the constelation gliding down the dining table and the poor housewife dreaming of a tangled wash day, had me spellbound.
I love too the wonderful old housewive, the one with a knocked off fridge, the old stick from chippingfield who ccoked the meal on the timer, her husband wanted the gas taken out to go all electric and welsh marian who cleaned the grate with old newspapers dreaming of owning a hoover. Not to mention Jenny Webb who worked as a demonstrater who had an ironer and spindryer. I could probably quote most of the script lol
Well all memories of a great series, at the time I would never have believed what was to come and the appliance community that I would become part off.
I'll probably end up watching it again now
Mathew
