Things I still do that are suppossed to be extinct:

Hang my sheets, shirts, and underwear on the line to dry in the summer.
Starch my shirts and sheets with Faultless powdered or liquid starch.
Use Mrs. Stewarts bluing occaisionally. One stare from her pic on the bottle, and my clothes wouldn't dare not be whiter or brighter.
Use chlorine bleach on some whites
Have a bar of Naptha
Still use a yarn dust mop on my hardwood floors
Still prefer front load washers and top load diswashers
Still brew my coffee in a glass vacuum pot
Still use pants-stretchers
Still prefer my acoustic baby grand to an electronic keyboard
Still have the curtain stretchers my mom had, but they don't work so well on my mini blinds.

Old Fashioned

I love everything old fashioned.

One thing Helen can do is bake from SCRATCH! Now if that ain't a good catch, I don't know what is.

I make coffee in a glass perc, vac pot or my french press (is that old-fashioned). I guess an Ibrik would be the ultimate old-fashioned.

I cook. For today's age, that's old fashioned.

rinso--- Starch your SHEETS? Wow, I've never heard of that before. What is it about starched sheets that you like?

And since I was a classical piano major in college, I'll also take the acoustic piano over an electric keyboard every time---except for rock music, where the electric makes more sense.

I always use bluing & 20 Mule Team Borax, and of course powdered detergents. And I too bake from scratch! YEA!!!

Frigilux, I like crispy, not silky sheets. I only starch them if I can't line dry them. I also make all my pasta and ravioli from scratch. No Ron Popiel Pasta maker for me.
