I recently bought this older model GE frost guard refrigerator and was wondering what year it is from and what model it is.

Just from outward appearances
It looks like it could be a TBF-12DA. There will be an identification plate on the refrigerator somewhere that shows it's Model Number and Serial Number. The serial number will tell you exactly the month and year of manufacture.
Looks very 1965-ish.

Agreed. Based on the handles, my guess was 1965 too.
That looks just like the one that the Dairy Isle drive-in restaurant had for many years. The place opened around '61 - '62, so the fridge must have been bought a little later.
