Hi all, I stumbled upon a treasure trove of old photographs online made by Maynard L. Parker, mostly in California in the 30's to 60's. I have added the link below for the "Online Archive of California". Once you are on the site, use the search window, enter "kitchen" and click the "online items" button. You will now have 299 photos of kitchens, appliances, cookware and the like from model homes and client homes of Mr Parker. I have added one of the photos from the collection here: Chris Choate home, Los Angeles, 1938. So get your coffee cups filled up, click away and enjoy.

John, thanks for sharing that. I plan to check it out. The above kitchen looks fantastic.

Great link, thanks.

I tried a search for "laundry" and got 14 hits. This is one of them.

Title:Fonda, Henry, residence. Laundry room. Los Angeles, CA

What a cool web site. Thanks! Here is a photo of the old family ranch house kitchen built in the 1800's. It has had some upgrades over the years. It originally just had a wood stove where the electric G.E is now. Most of the cabinets are original. The red counter top I think was part of a 1940's upgrade.

Oooooh,

Thanks for posting this! I've consumed a pot of coffee while drooling over most of those kitchens. What a great way to spend a lazy Saturday morning. Thanks again.

Anybody ever notice (I did at age 14) how the old Hotpoint Walll ovens and the Hotpoint dishwasher looked almost like identical twins--at least definitely siblings.

Well let's see. Saww numerous Electric Sinks from late 1940s through early 1950s. A number of kitchenAids too. and with the majority of houses being in the Los Angeles area, quite a few Waste King dishwashers. Also several GE and Westinghouse roll-out units. Also several of thed Hotpoints, including one or two of the very early post-war versions, like one in the last year or so in upstate New York. Saw one spray tube. also saw a beautiful Blackstone pair; an early Kenmore or Whirlpool pair, a few Bendix and combos and one RCA Whirlpool combo like Robert's. Very fun!! But obviously extremely successful husbands back then.
