That is Hotpoint's first dryer. It has Calrod heating elements when even the GE dryer had open coils. John has this model and bent Filtrator elements to fit so they have this wavy orange look like neon sculpture when they are hot. Like other early dryers, it is virtually silent in operation.

Thanks Tom. For some reasson, it still kinda reminds me of some vintage Hotpoint Combos I've seen from across the pond.

I have the first Hoovermatic(without temp.control,just the "Heater/Motor"switch)in my kitchen,too!It still works and I always use it with my vacation clothing,takes less time than washing 3 or 4 loads in the automatic!And,most important......
it´s much more fun!
