I have a few of those I.S.E. Evolution excel and while a lot better than any Kenmore or the 777ss they are not great.
They take forever to grind anything even after I took mine apart and put real blades in it.
There is even a huge difference in old Wastekings that are buy far some of the best. The grind ring(1989 model) I have noticed even though they are Cast steel don't last they don't keep a cutting edge.I have about 5 SS5000s and a few SS8000 3 SS4000 and a bunch more.
The SS8000 I have is old HUGE machine is only 1/2 H.P. and was made in 1972 it cost 299 bucks then which is a TON of money.
It is a totally different than the ones today the steel in black and even after years of smashing steak bones, paper, you name it the grind
ring is still sharp. It says Wasteking Universal on it has under-cutters and a 5 pound weight under the flywheel. All my Wasteking's
that say Universal are made that way.I have noticed that the Old 1968 I.S.E. 77 I have now has that same kind of black cast steel.
They most defiantly don't make them like they used to and that will get more important now sense Viking stopped making disposer's .This I.S.E. 77 that I am using now looks like a small batch feed it has two
rows of teeth in it and I mean teeth. The top row looks like shark teeth and the other are under it is another set of teeth. The flywheel
is heavy and made of the same stuff. The fixed hammers shear the grind ring and there is a cone crusher and a bar that is near
the center they smash bones.I have never had it jam on me and I have loaded it down with peach pits and steak bones and it
never slows even with 1/2 H.P. I have put everything down it paper, filters, everything and never a clog even without under-cutter's.
The only thing is that this design is used a grinder trash pump I found that out in another patent. It pushes water out with unreal
force so much so that I had to redo the pipe for my dishwasher drain and retighting and seal everything..I am glad Rex that you
like that Maytag I thought you might.Today they only try to sell power the more power the better but power really does not
have anything to do with it if you have a good grind system. Those Maytag's all have 1/2 H.P. G.E. motors in them and I have
never had a jam or a clog.
