Old Montgomery Wards portable Washer

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Eeeeeeeewwww...a tiny plastic indexing tub that could barely hold a pair of jeans made this washer virtually USELESS. I saw the exact same model at A-1 and it didn't have any entertaining options either. If I bought a WCI portable it would be the GE Spacemaker version; it's a little different with a rear-mounted recirculating filter and an "angel-wing" agitator.

I noticed Gary Weibel had a MW Portable Automatic made by NORGE!!! How neat!

Dave, you never cease to amaze me. A new house with a couple of sets of stacked frontloaders and -- does this mean you now have some space where you could start a select vintage collection?

Appnut,
Actually I have a whole basement that is about 5000sq feet which is pretty much up for grabs.

I think it is Gyrafoam who has the tons and tons of machines and has the whole setup where they are in rows and seperated by kind? Well, when I saw that I don't think I've ever seen anything that even comes close. THAT is what I want to do!!!

When we were looking at our new house the wife was busy going through the kitchen while I was busy measuring the laundry room. Afterall, what good is a house if you can't have *atleast* two or three washing machines :)

Dave, the collection display you describe is by our website founder Unimatic1140 (Robert). It could also be Gansky's collection. Either way, these two collectors boast of Movie star washer and tv stars.

Yes, every house should have space for at least two sets of waheers & dryers.

And btw, I'm boba1 on the appliance forum @ gardenweb

Unimatic!!! Yes, that's him.

I still sit in awe of that collection.

I don't *think* I've looked at Gansky's collection but I'll certainly have to get to that. So many great machines, so little time.

Incase you didn't know, I'm DaveNP from Gardenweb :)

We had the older model GE Spacemaker washer which looks almost exactly like the one in the auction, plastic tub and all. In fact the control panels looked so much alike thought it was a GE washer.

If anyone is interested in the unit featured, pretty sure this is the second listing (remember seeing the same auction at least two weeks ago), so you better get on the stick.
