Last summer I had the pleasure of having Margaret O'Brien (child star of the 40's) over for dinner. I have met her several times-long story. There is a very cool restored movie theatre (oldest one in Minneapolis) that I am involved with that is celebrating 80 years and hosting Margaret with two dynamite receptions, a silent auction with jewelry from Rose Marie, Anita Page, Margaret, Jane Meadows and others along with a screening of "Meet Me in St. Louis" that Margaret will give a talk after. She will be on hand for autographs and such. This is a beautiful time to come to Minneapolis for this fun event! Here is a shot of her at my home last summer. The link for more information about this event is www.judygarlandmuseum.com. The theatre link also has info on it, www.heightstheatre.com. Scroll down on the sites for this event.

I loved her in Meet Me in St. Louis

Such a cute little character. I loved how she always pretened that her dolls were coming down with fatal diseases ;-)

But come to think of it, I don't think I've seen any of her other movies.

Miss Margaret....

Don:

Margaret O'Brien is one of my favourite child stars. I do believe she and Elizabeth Taylor were the most beautiful children. She brought me to tears in Little Women.

I am so glad to see that she looks fabulous today!! Thanks for the memories!
