WOW

I don't think I have ever seen stainless panels on one of these and I've been around a LONG time!!! Too bad they couldn't pay me to have the dishwasher. I had one of those years ago and it was probably the loudest dishwasher I have ever heard. But it sure is nice looking.

Interesting, the door on the oven appears to be off a later GE wall oven? I am guessing this based on the handle and on the large chrome window frame; I had not seen either of those on these earlier (late 50s/very early 60s?) wall ovens.

Jeff, I was thinking the same thing about the oven door. Perhaps they redecorated and ordered a BC door panel and trim for the oven. One of my relatives switched out the door on their GE wall oven (Canary Yellow to Coppertone) when they got a new refrigerator.

The house across the street from me has a GE single wall oven in BC, that was installed in '65. It has a plain chrome handle, and the standard window trim.

Go figure

The cooktop is from the '90's, the oven is from the '60's and the dishwasher, sadly, is from the early '70's. That panel may have come off of another dishwasher or it was a custom job.

I looked an an early 60s ranch a few years ago that had it original practically unused kitchen. It had a similar, but slightly older GE dishwasher in brushed stainless and it was paired with a stainless Tappan electric wall oven and cook top.

Brushed Chrome GE DW

The BC panels were optional for GE DWs, in this time period the DW came out of the box with no panels and you installed the optional panels of your choice, BC cost a few bucks more.

You guys are correct the GE wall oven did not come with that outer door panel and handle originally.
