Actually this dryer may have a constant burning pilot, one can tell for sure by the beginning of the model#, if it begins LGT it has a constant burning pilot, if the model# begins LIT it has electric ignition. WP made special models with constant burning pilots that were sold mainly through gas companies and the like because once they got you to buy a clothes dryer they were guaranteed to sell you a certain amount of gas per year even if you still hung your clothes on the line. This was back in the good old days when the gas and electric companies were still trying to get you to waste as much gas and electricity as possible, LOL.
We used to see quite a few of these pilot dryers in the DC area, and when I would be working on one I would often comment to the customer [ oh you bought your dryer from the gas company ] they were often surprised that I knew this.

Funny how the washer appears to be clean looking, but the dryer looks like it was out playing in the dirt. I think the access panel is upside down. Nice set though.
