I have a Royal commercial "Everlast" that was built in China.I also have a Royal Prince that was built in the US-bought it about 15 years ago.Still have it.Has a blue bag.Glad the dopes didn't discontinue the "Prince" machines-the best hand vac out there.I wish Royal's new owners didn't discontinue the metal Royal Tank canister cleaners.They replaced it with an "18lb turkey" look plastic oreiental style canister with useless tools.The dealer here will not stock those.

Looked at the picture of the machine again-it is a "knock-off" of the Prince-from the picture a rather good imitation.On the closeup of the label on the vac-looks like something like "Falcan" or "Falden" industries.Sad-looks like Royal DOES NOT make their Prince machines anymore.Makes you wonder how well this one would work.Looks like they copied the Royal Prince pretty cloesly.

Yes--the Princes do "rock" and do better as a hand vac then any of the others out there.I am going to hang onto mine.The red plastic Royal "dirt Devil" hand vac didn't do too bad either.That Prince was just so much better!!-and lasted longer than the DD machines.

i have a salmon/white/grey wards "signature" hand cleaner mady by royal. same as prince. i think it needs a new front bearing. anyone know about this? thanks

brettsomers:Try taking the machine to a Royal dealer-they may be able to take care of it.If you are a do it yourselfer-you can carefully disassemble the unit-and not what type# the bearings are.then you can go to a automotive parts dealer that carries bearings-or go to WWW Grainger.They have the widest selection of bearings.I am assuming its a ball bearing-if its a sleeve bearing you will have to get it as a part from Royal or the company that built the vac.Your vac dealer could help you with this-be sure to go to one that does repairs in his shop.He can reapir it for you or get the parts you need as well if you want to fix it yourself.It couldn't hurt to replace BOTH bearings-the other could be about to go as well.To replace rear bearings you need a tool known as a bearing puller.An arbor press works well for removing applying bearings on a motor armature.

Tolivac, Help!

The front bearing went on one of my Princes, too. All of a sudden with no warning. The shaft just started to wobble like crazy. I was told that Royal does not make parts anymore, so I just set it aside. What should we do?

Try to see if your dealer ever runs into any used Princes-that may help-you could get one that way and keep your old one.Sleeve bearings are not usually a "stock standard" part like ball bearings.Sad.Or maybe you could get another Prince from Ebay if you are an Ebay shopper.It figures those bozos at the new Royal discontinued the part so you are forced to buy one of their Cheap machines.If you did run into another bearing they are not too hard to replace.Keep it just in case you can run into another bearing.Sounds like its OK otherwise.
