Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

The Gentle Annie agitator is different to the Smart Drive.

Gentle Annie: each fin is a triangle, fully connected to the base skirt at the bottom, the centre post at the centre. The outer edge of each fin is a straight line.

Smart Drive: each fin is a "wing" which is attached to the centre post but not fully attached to the base skirt. The outer edge of each fin is a curve.

The action is different too - the Smart Drive has a very slight pause after each stroke, the Gentle Annie has absolutely no pause, the agitator "bounces" instantly from full speed one way to full speed the other direction.

close to my heart this one

my grandparents replaced this type of machine with their Hotpoint liberator dryer in 1973/74.

But they, for some reason, didn't scrap it!

I came along in 1978 and it became mine through to about 1983/84.

At that point my grandma had her kitchen and utility rearranged and I was ASKED whether the machine could be disposed of.

I said yes.

If the machine wasnt so very far away, I would definately seek to right that wrong.

Question though - my grandma always called it ACME Summer Breeze, as opposed to Sun Breeze!
I am perplexed as Summer Breeze sounds more likely than a Sun Breeze and yet it definately looks to be the latter.
Was there ever a Summer Breeze?

Fab Zanussi! So 70s! I love it!!

Hi Darren

WOW and WOW!

Can't wait to see your Zanussi! I so absolutely love the 1970s and any machine from that time to me is fabulous!

Its a shame you are having to part with some of your others but I totally understand. Us as collectors if we don't have the room just have to move machines on to get new fantastic machines! We never get bored that way and at least we don't have too many so the ones we have can be used regulary to keep em going.

hi sorry to disapoint thats also the merloni machine the 800 spin version its exactly the same as the 500 spin bar it has an extra button, flap to cover the filter and the door handle matches the philco versions,it was the same machine in the earlier powerpoints?dont know if ye have that brand over in the uk?basically the earlier version of the italion made servis washers/whirlpool washer dryers

This one has sold, but i include it because of the sheer fantastic condition and the fact that it is a DIAMOND version.

Look at that asking price - the price sold is incredible too.

Whoever bought has a fantastic looking machine - indeed when i first saw it (and before I saw the price) I ws very tempted at the prospect of ownership.

Right - getting really hacked off with this everything superb is down south thing.

My grandma owned one of these from about 1982 through 1988, before it went mad with PCB issues.

When i saw it last night I was instantly ready to buy - then i saw the location.

Why, oh why, oh why, oh why is everything always soooo far away.

a Servis Mk320 Slimline Electronic 1000

p.s does anyone know much about this series as the 320 was the only one i ever saw. I know there was Mk318 (850rpm) and Mk320, Mk321 and Mk322 all 1000rpm.
I asume they all looked identical but with more or less buttons?
