Like Panthera, I, too, have never seen a female Mormon doing

Go to Nauvoo, IL. This is the site where the Mormans settled in the mid-west before they were driven to IL. Their church is now buying up the land in that area to rebuild the town.

They have females doing mission there. You are correct that the seldom send the females on mission where they would be outside the view of a chaperone. This protects their virtue.

Just an observation: the OP hasn't been heard from since his first post, and if he's spent any time at all reading this forum, he knew perfectly well the reaction his post would generate.

As for bitchfighting, as Keven said this is Robert's living room. Treat it as such.

If the church that supported prop 8. would of given 10% of that money to, Indigent children funds and pet shelters they good of done a world of good. How can you use "tax exempt funds" to spread hate. Where is the IRS, when you need them. alr2903

Mormon Money

It's good that you mentioned money! With an estimated income of 4 billion plus dollars every year, asking where all this money goes is a natural and seemingly innocent question. The "church" itself has not reported on any of it's financial dealings or status since 1963 so it's anyone's guess as to what the truth actually is. This lack of open and honest disclosure is not uncommon among organized religions although the structure and hierarchy of the LDS organization is very different than that of most other religions. The LDS system is highly centralized and controlled from the top; The Quorum of Twelve - a group of white men, always, sort of a board of directors.

The LDS involvement in the Prop 8 fight in California can be traced almost entirely to the members of the "church" in California, very little has come directly from the Salt Lake coffers. The "church" reported approximately $190,000 in expenses toward this cause to the state of CA, the rest of the money came from members in CA and elsewhere likely at the urging of the "church" but the money trail pretty much ends there for the Mormons but then we shouldn't forget that the Catholics joined with the Mormon cult to fund this hatred as well.

As I said back in November, these people took a valuable lesson away from the Prop 8 fight and clearly are applying it to politics in general and will try to go on subverting our civil rights all across the land. Andrew Sullivan focused on the Catholic involvement today. With the yesterday's defeat of our civil rights in Maine, funded by guess who?, we see this terrible prophecy coming true again - and likely to a state near you very soon.

Here's a bit of it, lest anyone have trouble finding it:

"After Maine, where the Catholic church actually organized a second collection to raise money to prevent gay people from having civil rights, the situation shifts again. Using a tax-exempt church to raise money to defeat the civil rights of fellow citizens is not too shocking in the age of Benedict. It is shocking if one believes in a separation of politics and religion, and if one believes that the church of Jesus should stand in solidarity with the marginalized, rather than seeking to marginalize and demonize them still further.

It is time to acknowledge that the Catholic church hierarchy can no longer pretend that it isn't the active enemy of gay people and our families. That this church hierarchy—especially in its more conservative wing—is disproportionately gay itself and waging war against their fellow gays through the cowardly veil of the closet, is not new. But it is, as we flinch with the sting of defeat, harder to take than ever.

It is time to demand that gay priests who are actively fighting against the dignity of gay people own their enmeshment in injustice, stigmatization and cruelty. It is time to reveal them in this respect as the enemies of the Gospels, not the champions. "

One of the reasons

the pigs behind yes on prop1 refused to obey the law and open their books was because they know damn good and well that the Catholic church and the momos are cheating, lying filth using their tax exempt status to oppress us.

These pigs need to be stripped of their tax exempt status, the monsters who view the Catholic church as their playground to prey on chldren thrown into prison and locked away for life...and every single member of the Church administration who covered up these predators convicted for aiding and abetting.

Not that I feel strongly about it, or anything...

Kevin------

We have no such similarities other than in your sick mind.

My friends are just that, and you don't know a thing about any of us personally.

Everytime you make a post here you validate everything I've said.

And if Robert didn't enjoy or agree with the debate he would have deleted it. That this website exists for his pleasure is no secret. Oh, and you make a lousy toches-lecker.

Steve, you're assuming too much here. AFAIK Robert doesn't check this forum every day, or sometimes anything close to every day.

If you and KevEn have a personal problem, don't make it everyone else's.

Steve, nothing personal meant, and the request was directed at both of you.

IMO there's a 99% chance this thread was a troll in the first place. The OP hasn't been heard from since.

Okay folks, perhaps it is time to take a breath.

First:

Do we all like things like old appliances ? Yes, I think so.

Second:

Do we all want to see people have recognition of equal natural rights for everyone? Yes, I'd say so.

Third:

Do we have personalities that are all different and sometimes have a lot of friction? Yes, that is quite clear.

Can we just take a breath and calm down?

Decorum...

My 2 cents here, but I always enjoyed cruising the Super forum to catch up on small appliances, ranges, HiFi's and small talk. In a lot of ways it was like a virtual wash-in with recipes and pictures being shared, stories being told and friendly discussion taking place. As someone else pointed out, a lot like a gathering in a virtual Living Room.

Certainly there's nothing wrong with a little political chat, but I guess I'm old fashioned in that you take it outside. Nothing splits up a party like a heated debate about topics that everybody has an opinion on and few can see entirely eye to eye, and I certainly wouldn't consider doing that as a guest in someone's home.

Sure, it's been argued that if you don't like it, don't click on the threads, but the relevant posts end up dying off early or end up 20 lines down and 'off the radar' and I can't help notice a number of friendly faces I use to see around the Super don't really feel all that inclined to post here anymore, which is a real shame. My self included. -Cory

dolce et decorum est...

Cadman,
I've been part of this group since the Yahoo days.

With me or without me the drama and scenes go on (the whole summer, for instance, I only made one posting - and that was because Robert was attacked by that racist. Come to think of it, do you remember when the first real hatefest towards me began? Right - when I stood up against Austin and defended the non-white, non-Christian members of this group. That was the split into the nastiness we've had ever since. Interesting, when you think about it.) and those scenes and mini-dramas were just as intense without me as with me here. Goodness, be honest and look at the "other" collector's club - the One which must never be Named - I never post there, ever. Never have. And yet, the drama (same cast as here, by the by) is just the same. Louder, actually. It's been a catfight off and on for years now. And nothing, at all, to do with me.

Sorry, but it just ain't all me.

Tell you what - ask your friends to come back to Super. It's silly to stay away just 'cause of little old me. Frankly, you ladies give just as good as you get and, as I mentioned - even in the times when I've not said one word, the bitchiness has still shown up. Without me, there'd soon be someone else to rally around and hate. That's the nature of queens. That's why I am so glad we have so many women and straight men in the club.

Really is this necessary...

Funny my name has been mentioned 9 times in this thread, yet this is the first I've looked at it (after I read the subject matter of the first post back on the day it was posted), due to an email I received earlier in the day. To be honest most of this stuff I completely ignore, I really have no desire to read through this.

Because of Super Forum threads like this I've been thinking of implementing a button on each post called "mark as offensive". If 5, 7, 10 (or how ever many I decide) unique users/ip's mark a post in a thread offensive it will get automatically deleted (the single post not the whole thread) and replaced with something like "automatically deleted by 5 members".

It's probably 4 or 5 hours worth of designing, coding and testing to implement that. When I get time I will work on it, its really too bad I'd rather spend the time scanning new Pictures of the Day and such, but oh well.
