Well am still eating leftovers from Thanksgiving, yet it is time to start planning Christmas baking!

Am thinking Spritz cookies would be a good start as they are always welcomed gifts.

Have a manual trigger cookie press by Wilson, but have been eyeing one of those electic jobs. The trigger version works ok, but after the first sheet or so of cookies it gets to one's hands! Thoughts?

What else is everyone else baking for Christmas? Am going through my older cookbooks (Joy of Cooking, and Better Crocker's cookbook) finding lots of interesting things one might try such as Stollen. On the whole don't like doing fruit cakes unless someone requests one. Most cannot abide the things and they are often either regifted or found years later stuffed in a cupboard somewhere!*LOL* One good thing about "old" fruit cakes is they have absorbed all that booze!

I love communal Christmas baking, which some friends and I do at my house about a week-and-a-half before Christmas. I set up three stations and everyone works on their list of 3 or 4 types of goodies:

Iced Sugar Cookies; Russian Tea Cakes (my favorite!); Peanut Butter Cookies with a Hershey's Star pressed in the center; Spritz Cookies; Shortbread Cookies; Rolled & Sliced Refrigerator Cookies; Peanut Butter Cups in mini paper liners; Pretzels dipped in Chocolate; Gingerbread Cookies; Date-Filled Fold-Over Cookies (another favorite); Christmas M&M Cookies; Thumbprint Cookies with Jam in the center...

By the end of the day, we're sick of baking and we order Chinese for supper, LOL!
It's a great way for all of us to get a wide assortment of Christmas goodies in one fell swoop.
