I just accidentally ran my GE Nautilus portable through a 3/4 of a cycle and forgot to turn the water on! Did I ruin the pump? I tried to manually advance the switch and it got stuck and I had to jiggle the detergent cup lid to make the knob move again. Anyone else ever had an "oops" moment? Was everything ok?

I must sound as silly to you all as people do to me when they say they their vacuum "ain't suckin" and the bag is bursting at the seams and the belt is in a million pieces! A co worker's son's roommate threw the filter to their Eureka Optima away because it was dirty. Then he proceeded to use the machine without a filter. He only stopped because the vacuum quit working. I thought, "What an idiot he must be!" But what kind of person would hook up and turn on a dishwasher and forget the most important part? I might as well have forgotten to plug it in! I mean really!

You're still young. Wait till you hit my age. You go to the pantry and say "why am I here"

Ever leave washed clothes in the machine for says? Welcome to my world.

I'm sure the dishwasher will be fine - those are pretty tough pumps in those.

Speaking of "Senior Moments" - how about going to the hardware/grocery store for one thing, buying a whole basket full of stuff and realizing when you get home you forgot to buy the one thing you went for. Happens all the time!

I'm already there.......

A few weeks ago I put a bag of bacon away after I was done taking out what I needed. Apparently I was singing too hard or something because I found it a week later in the pantry closet right beside the fridge. I went to look for it and had to actually buy new bacon because I couldn't find it. I was really scratching my head. My first week in the apartment (October 2006) I did the same thing with a box of fried chicken. It was a little chaotic because I was moving so that one is almost understandable. Maybe I was subconsciously hiding the "bad" foods... for some reason I never lose veggies! Not that I really eat them!

I'm always having senior moments. Just the other day I piled the dogs in the car to head downtown to pay my internet bill which was overdue. Enroute I stopped at the Habitat Restore as per normal. Bought nothing, came out, went to turn left on the street towards downtown and thought not to bother because there really isn't much down there anyways, so I turn right and head home. Whack!! no sooner in the house and I realize. I find myself forgetting or becoming absent minded a lot more often now than say 2 years ago.
