This weekend I went into an old antique shop with a friend of mine that the new owner was clearing out. It had always been quite junky and hard to find things, even for me! I found this box in the corner of the basement where it had been for a long time. Who has a guess as to what it could be? I'll show what is inside tomorrow.[this post was last edited: 6/2/2014-21:25]

It could be anything... unless you want to toss out a hint or two.

How about a dart board?

I say open it up and expose it to the world!

Hint...

It is appliance related. I kind of wanted to see if anyone recognized the box. I'm not sure if the box is a custom job to it was an option. Will post picture of the contents this evening.

Thank you, Stephanie.

It's a vintage Bunn Pour-omatic!

I've not seen one from the 60s vintage before. I guess it was used for catering. Any idea what the numbers mean on the company sticker? Would this box have been custom made or do you think Bunn made it?

It's very close to the ad in the box with the exception of the placemat of where you pour in the water. In fact the cover for that section is all that is missing (along with the manual, I guess) Anyone have one or the other in their junk drawers?

To top it off, it even works! Random small appliance, but a relatively rare one.

you do know how to set these up for the first time.....yes?

pouring in several decanters of water to fill the internal tank that keeps the water hot.....then your ready to plug it in, let it heat, and ready to brew...

they also take special BUNN filters that work with these pour overs, about 1/2 inch taller than standard ones.....usually you can find a small box at Walmart....

I have not seen one this old....but doesn't look like much has changed....that cabinet looks neat.....

unique to see those flatter style decanters....I think I have a few, and didn't know what model they came from...

Dunn Dunn Dunn. Err... Bunn Bunn Bunn

Lol

Yes, Martin, my parents have gone through 3 in the last 30 plus years. Thank you for the advice though. I've used these machines many times, though, I don't plan on making this a daily driver. Side note the A-10 is still in production today, which makes dating it quite difficult.

Mom and dad's always sprung a leak somewhere around 12 years old... :(  We'll see how much their current A-10 lasts.  I have the box from there first one from the late 70s/early 80's.  It was used to store things for years at their house.
